So myself, my husband, and a few co-workers of mine are in a “biggest Loser” challenge. There are 7 of us who have paid $20 each to join and at 6 weeks one person can win $42.00 and at 12 weeks one person can win the rest of the pot - $98.00 if we manage to be the “biggest loser”. Whoever loses the most percentage weight loss, then that person wins the pot at 6 weeks and 12 weeks. Basically like the TV show – The Biggest Loser on NBC. However, we don’t have the comforts of the ranch; nutritionist, personal trainers, or TV host extraordinaire. We are losing weight basically on our own through our own diet and exercise plan. I sent out the tools at the beginning of the challenge that were posted on the Biggest Loser website so that if people needed help, they could refer to the site for guidance. I also send out helpful tips everyday, i.e. fitness tips, nutritional tips, etc.
I am hoping I can be of some help for the people who are doing this challenge with me. I know I have had my weight loss battles my whole life and I am trying to get them under control finally. It is hard, but I am hoping by doing this blog it will keep me honest and give me motivation in my daily weight loss challenges.
About two years ago, I reached my highest weight I have ever weighed in my life, 195 pounds. I decided I needed to do something about my weight; I started to lose some weight for my upcoming wedding. I think I lost 15 pounds before I got married. After my wedding, my husband and I were still disgusted with our weight and we decided to get really serious about losing it for good and I lost a total of 40 pounds, my husband lost 50 pounds. We looked great and felt great! Since losing the weight, we have both gained back a few of those pounds over the past year and now we are back to getting rid of the weight again. I gained back about 10 pounds, I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but it feels like a lot compared to how I felt after losing 40. Its about one dress size in clothes, which can be a lot considering I went down about 3 dress sizes. So now I am on the warpath of trying to lose the 10 pounds that I gained back, plus another 20 pounds. I hope I can do it; I have the motivation of my husband, the challenge and support at work, and winning the pot of money at the end of 6 weeks and 12 weeks! This blog is about me and my weight loss journey!
